Like many of us, I have had that January feeling for the last week. My whole body felt tired and sluggish, and I was waking up in the morning still feeling exhausted. I really felt the need for a boost. So I arranged a reflexology swap with another reflexologist.
Wow, do I feel better after my reflexology treatment. My feet feel light and springy, and I feel totally energised. I had the best night’s sleep the night after the treatment that I had had for ages.
Reflexology gives me that feeling you have when you’ve been walking barefoot on the beach or paddling in the water at the edge of the shore. Your feet feel loved and appreciated, all tingly and pulsating, as the water caresses them and the sand exfoliates them. That’s one of the reasons I love walking on the beach in the summer, you feel so fantastic afterwards. When we walk barefoot on the earth, not only are we stimulating our feet but we also reconnect electronically with the earth absorbing elections from the earth surface which have antioxidant effects on the body.
It’s the same with reflexology – your feet and the rest of your body and soul feel re-invigorated and uplifted after a treatment. There are over 7000 nerve endings in the feet, so you can imagine how much of a stimulus that is to the body. When the touch sensors in the feet are activated this sends a message to the brain to release the feel-good hormones in the body. At the same time, our para-sympathetic nervous system is also stimulated which induces a state of relaxation.
Reflexology is also effective in the elimination of toxins – a must for so many of us after the indulgence of the festive period! It also aims to bring the body’s system back into its natural state of balance to encourage self-healing. So what’s there not to love about it!
So if you can’t rush of for a barefoot walk on the beach, why don’t you experience the same feeling and book in for a reflexology treatment today. Start 2017 off on a fresh footing!!
